Malachite pendant

 

 A pendant in the form of a human face is made of malachite, a semiprecious stone of a dark green color and veined. They were found at the site of Basta, located in Jordan, south of the city of Maan, in the seventh millennium BC. The Basta site is one of the most important Neolithic sites in the southern Levant

The Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology at Yarmouk University was established in 1984, as the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, aiming at conducting interdisciplinary researches and promoting public awareness of cultural heritage of Jordan and the Arab World.
