The Department of Anthropology was established in 1984. The Department awards bachelor and master's degrees in anthropology. The courses taught at the department are designed to provide students with theoretical and practical experience in the archaeological, biological and social aspects of the discipline, which is concerned with the study of human and his culture. The department has specialized laboratories for the study and treatment of skeletal remains. It has conducted many studies related to the Jordanian society and its culture and participated in many research projects with national and international institutions.
